EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON THE BOND BEHAVIOR OF CFRP-TO-CONCRETE INTERFACE UNDER CYCLIC LOADING

Abstract

An experimental program is conducted to investigate the bond fatigue behavior of CFRP-to-concrete bonded specimens. The fatigue performance of two different CFRP composite types including laminate versus fabric sheet is evaluated through the examination of bond-slip relationship and strain response. Also, four various bond lengths are considered in each EB-CFRP configuration (laminate vs. sheet) and the bond behavior is evaluated with respect to this variable. Results from this study show that using CFRP fabric sheet can provide a better tool for strengthening concrete structures under fatigue loading in comparison with CFRP laminate, in terms of fatigue life and residual capacity.
