Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) emerges as one of the main innovations of the fourth industrial revolution. Its impact is felt across various sectors, and the construction industry is no exception. Over the past decade, there has been a noticeable increase in research dedicated to the application of AI in all phases of a construction project. The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the implementation of Lean Construction (LC) can profoundly transform the way the construction industry operates, making it more efficient, productive, and profitable. AI can be utilized to analyze large-scale data, optimize project planning, manage inventory and supplies, monitor real-time progress, inform data-driven decision-making, and reduce the need for paper documents. However, the successful adoption of AI in construction requires investments in research, technology, and workforce training. This study will focus on evaluating the use of Artificial Intelligence within LC and has two primary objectives. Firstly, it will explore the database of the International Group for Lean Construction (IGLC) to identify AI-related publications, summarize their findings, and observe prominent research directions. Secondly, the article will analyze the impacts of AI usage on the evolution of lean practices in the implementation of LC.
