Abstract
Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) constitute a promising technology for beyond- 5th Generation (B5G)/ 6th Generation (6G) wireless systems. In this letter, using recursion approach, the second and fourth moment for the cooperative M RIS-aided end-to-end channel are derived. Based on the moment matching (MM) approach, these moments are utilized to approximate the distribution for the cooperative M RIS-assisted channel. It is shown that the outage probability (OP) and ergodic capacity (EC) performance of the considered system improves with the increase in M when the number of reflecting elements (REs) per RIS is large.
