Near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) and magnetoencephalography (MEG) are brain exploration techniques that measure brain activity. The first objective of this work was to learn how to use NIRS in order to do simultaneous MEG/NIRS acquisitions. A deconvolution technique using wavelet packets was developed for analysis of NIRS signals. This analysis technique is based on physiological priors and estimates the hemodynamic response to a stimulus. Simulations were performed to test the deconvolution algorithm. It was also used on real data from NIRS acquisition in order to demonstrate how it fares on real data. The analysis tools were developed with MatLab and can be used with Brainstorm. A stand alone version also exists.
