Hydro-Québec energy substations are under electromagnetic interferences due to high voltage transported and equipment behavior. According to case studies, the noise varies from -176 dBm at 10 GHz to 40 dBm at 10 MHz. It is troublesome to link sens ors with communication cable, so a wireless sensors network is the best option to control the equipments in substations from the outside. AH major wire1ess technologies (Wimax, LTE, Wi-Fi, ZigBee, Bluetooth ... ) have to be used to link these equipments sensors. In addition, noise characteristics (frequency and power) and location have to be considered for the communication devices and sens ors disposition. This mas ter' s thesis aims to characterize the electromagnetic environment within high voltage substations by classifying noises already measured and it proposes a method to capture and analyze impulsionnel noises.
