The presence of air pollution emissions from different stationary sources was characterized.
These emissions are present in forms and quantities under the levels of federal and provincial regulations and guidelines that govern the management of atmospheric emissions from stationary sources. The characterization was conducted under the usual conditions of operation during the winter season.
From the perspective of the new provincial regulations, the terms of which have been discussing since 2005, it is possible that the vested interests could be exempt from the new regulations. However, these future guidelines have must to be watched.
The advanced age of the studied installations implies rigorous maintenance planning. Combustion tests of each stationary source on a regular basis are recommended.
To support the follow-up and evaluation of the environmental performance from stationary sources, a program to help the management of environmental emissions was developed.
