Algeria faces huge climatic constraints, consisting in the predominance of a hot and dry weather on the four on fifth of the total territory, thus the choice of the climatic aspect as an energy saving strategy. The large scale integration of this aspect seems to be ignored by the designers. The up listed constraints can be turned into a potential.
This study focuses on the analyses of the energetic performance of the collective building in the climatic conditions in Biskra in order to naturally master the all season comfort. Added to that, the significant reduction of the air conditioning and heating expenses. This research particularly focuses on the influence of the building implantation and its facades orientation according to solar radiation and wind on the reduction of amount the energy needed to improve indoor temperature conditions.
Taking into account the optimal orientation as well as a good choice of the exterior walls color and an integration of a shading apparatus such as the loggia, proves an effective interior temperature reduction of the studied spaces and temperature fluctuation decrease. In fact, the outcome of this research induces a reduction of the heat input implying lower energy consumption relate to air conditioning and heating.
