The process of planning in the forestry sector is complex, and divergences arise between solutions of the models of different planning’s levels. In order to reduce those divergences, many approaches have been developed: monolithic approaches, hierarchical approaches, integrated planning of several levels, etc.
A tactical-operational integrated method in the forestry sector is introduced in this research. Two existing mathematical models have been taken as a basis to implement this integrated hierarchical approach: a resources’ allocation model and a cutting sites’ location model. The integration has been achieved with an anticipation function. The methodology followed is Schneeweiss’s one. This method allows helping managers of the upper level to take decisions to be feasible in the lower level.
A case study was conducted on the forest resource planning process in Québec. The results obtained are encouraging for the use of the proposed method in a real case to help managers make decisions.
