This study consists of developing a graphical tool which is integrated in the systems of the modern pavement management to assist decision-makers in developing suitable action plans characterized in effective and reliable decisions at a lower cost.
The pavement management systems are based on data collection, which is essential for modeling and analyzing pavement performance. This approach plays an important role in this study since the objective is to develop a protocol for optimizing the rational and strategic decision-making process.
The suggested tool is based on the collection and the analysis of data according to a quality plan exposed, as well as the graphical visualization of these data on the platform Google Earth which could integrate, visualize and store an abundant amount of information by any type of users.
Our tool collects data using available and inexpensive technological equipment including georeferenced video cameras, mobile applications to record the x, y and z geometry of the studied routes, in addition to the On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) device used in the calculation of polluting emissions, and finally, the computer, processing and analysis tool. This graphic tool has been tested in urban and rural roads, which allowed to put these road rehabilitation studies to test.
The adoption of our graphic tool will contribute to the improvement and optimization of the decision-making process quality.
