This thesis performs tests on advance jamming methods unique to a system using fast signal processing. The signal processing is accomplished using digital radio frequency memory or DRFM.
The jamming is tested on mobile communication signals used by cell phones. The signals are chosen to represent modern standards used in current commercial cell phones applications. These standards are WiMAX, GSM-EDGE and W-CDMA.
A second series of tests is performed using classic jamming methods without digital radio frequency memory. These jamming methods are implemented using software options available in the DRFM equipment. These tests allow for a comparison of all jamming methods base on the interference generated for similar transmission powers. The results offer insight on the most power efficient jamming methods and which standards offer the best resistance to signal jamming.
