Résumé

This presentation delves into the overlooked realm of social and academic infrastructure crucial for successful doctoral programs in design disciplines. Highlighting the indeterminacy of doctoral education in design and diverse administrative models, it gathers experienced scholars to discuss best practices and essential considerations. Emphasizing the pivotal role of doctoral education in shaping disciplinary knowledge, the presentation confronts wide disparities in program administration and support. It navigates key questions on infrastructural requirements, student needs, quality evaluation, and institutional variations. By fostering collaborative dialogue, it aims to advance more equitable and effective doctoral education in design.
