Managing tacit knowledge within creative industries frequently faces challenges such as lack of engagement and the "blank page" syndrome. Traditional databases struggle to motivate continuous sharing, leading to information obsolescence. This thesis aims to design and evaluate a gamified collaborative ecosystem to sustain employee engagement.
Based on Design Science Research (DSR) and Action Design Research, the approach consists of three iterations conducted at Moment Factory. The first iteration validates the use of interactive mapping to materialize collective intelligence and provide immediate visual feedback. The second integrates storytelling with the MEREX method and player profiles (HEXAD model) to reduce drafting friction and guide community moderation. The third evaluates the addition of mechanics inspired by Trading Card Games (TCG), introducing dynamic scarcity and a peer-referral system to foster accountability among members of a community of practice.
The results demonstrate that this "meaningful gamification" generates strong qualitative engagement (ownership of knowledge sheets and peer-referral processes), in contrast to the indifference observed toward virtual rewards (pointsification). However, as organic adoption remains low outside of dedicated workshops, the future integration of generative artificial intelligence appears promising to automate knowledge elicitation and streamline its integration into daily workflows.
