The analysis of the arrhythmicity of the electrophysiological signal is increasingly being studied in the context of brain signals. This component, which contains broad spectral band information, is distinct from the rhythmic components of cerebral activity This work concerns the application of the multifractal model developed by Jaffard, Wendt and Abry in the context of intracerebral signals measured during sleep. The goal of this work is to find a relevant biomarker to characterize pharmacoresistant epilepsy to assist in the pre-surgical decision-making process for a patient and the success of the surgery. Using signals recorded in specific regions in the patient, these biomarkers will be able to distinguish different types of regions with respect to the disease. We first evaluate the model in animals (mouse sleep). We then show that this model can distinguish between different brain regions in humans. This result ultimately helps to identify pathological regions in epileptic patients.
