Nowadays, the main issue for industrials is to evaluate both current and future condition of equipment, taking into account their operational background. For this purpose, prognostics tools are available and allow to support maintenance decision making. This thesis focus on energy producers operating hydroelectric turbines subject to erosive cavitation. The resulting degradation generates important economic losses because of maintenance costs and operating losses. This degradation is modelled with stochastic processes. These latter exhibit interesting mathematical properties such as the possibility to evaluate failure time. This study uses degradation data from both laboratory and operating industrial units.
