Abstract

This project’s objective is to elaborate an optimal four-dimension trajectory (three space dimensions and a time dimension) to connect all the waypoints specified in the flight plan. It also includes the management of No-Fly Zones, which are zones over which flying is forbidden or temporarily refused. It can be either a meteorological obstacle to by-pass or a zone in which an air conflict is already too dense to welcome a new aircraft. This final objective is the Air-Traffic Controllers’ workload decrease. The plane will propose autonomously a track to the pilots that will accept or not. If they accept, the road is sent to the ATC for acceptance and if both parties agree, the information is further sent to the other airplanes. Therefore, the controllers concentrate on the conflicts management. Studies will be needed in the air traffic density, and this task will reduce the communications of pilots with the ground. The proposed method allows the realization of an optimized trajectory by taking into account the avoidance of Non-Fly Zones. A meta-heuristic method is used in our optimization algorithm. This meta-heuristic method is new and has advantages of the two existing methods. This algorithm is created in order to keep it up to date easily. If a feature is encoded in the future project, there will be a single subroutine to change, which improves the ease and efficacy of the maintenance program. The flight test data are saved in an Excel file.
