Développement d'une méthodologie d'amélioration de la production de masse personnalisée et application à une PME

Abstract

This project is about small industrial businesses that manufacture mass custom products. Thoses companies have very specific needs. In this context, the aim is to improve the manufacturing process, so a methodology that fit the needs is required. In order to improve the process a reference has to be set. In such a small company, the nature of problems are known but the real impact of each problem is not quantified. That’s why the Overall Equipment Effectiveness is a relevant indicator to run a diagnostic. Then we focus on comparing frequently used tools and methods in manufacturing engineering to help to design an adapted methodology. The general idea of the methodology designed is to emphasises on critical tasks and then use mainly SMED to reduce time losses. The calculated OEE in the particular case of study is 72,19% before any change. While calculating the OEE we proved that most of OEE losses came from time loss. Basically the computer assisted milling machines were stopped for various reasons but mainly because of setup time. The plan is to externalize the first of the three milling phases and to reorganize the tasks. The first of the tree milling phase is very simple and fast but it take additional setup time which can be saved. After those two priority actions the OEE is supposed to go up to 81,66%. Then non priority actions are proposed in the plan. It covers non quality reduction and additional slight production capacity improvement. Finally the project help to bring some insight of industial engineering managment tools and methods to the members of the company.
