This study focuses on improving the efficiency and reliability of photovoltaic (PV) systems through advanced maximum power point tracking (MPPT) techniques. A detailed review of the literature on MPPT algorithms and recent advancements in solar energy was conducted. The research addresses the drift issue in conventional P&O algorithms and the limitations of fixed step-size methods. An adaptive MP&O algorithm enhanced with fuzzy logic was introduced. This new algorithm dynamically adjusts the step size, balancing response speed and power oscillations around the MPP. The validity of the algorithm in real-world conditions was confirmed through real-time tests conducted in our laboratory at GREPCI. These tests demonstrated a rapid adaptation to irradiance variations and a reduction in steady-state oscillations, achieving an efficiency of 97.21%. The results indicate that the adaptive MP&O algorithm with fuzzy logic significantly outperforms conventional methods in terms of stability and efficiency, making it a promising solution for enhancing the performance of PV systems.
